Top 20 Domain Promotion Strategies for 2007

Hi and welcome to my top 20 domain promotion strategies for 2007. I have been involved in internet marketing now for over 5 years initially working for Microsoft MSN and then yahoo. I went independent in 2005 and never never never looked back!!!!! In a word I LOVE internet marketing it is by far the best (job???) I have ever had! I get up around 7.30am most days check my emails and then go to the gym. If I want a day off I take a day off and if I have anything important to go to at anytime of the day then I go. It has given me full independence for myself and my family. Anyway enough (I do like to ramble) here are my top 20 Domain Indexing Strategies for 2007. Some of these strategies are basic and some are more advanced. But these are all the strategies I use to get my sites indexed in less than 5 days for the main 3 search engines which are Google, Yahoo and MSN.

Number 1: Yahoo Notifyer

Yes that’s right you can notify
Yahoo that you have a new site / existing site. This is best used to link directly to your site map rather then your index page. For example rather then just putting in “yourdomain dot com” you put in “yourdomain dot com/sitemap.htm” I find this will get you linked within Yahoo within 5-30 days. It really is that random when you will get linked but you WILL get linked with Yahoo using this one. The link for

Number 2: Trackback Linking

This method is again finding High PR blogs but rather then posting to their blogs you post a comment on your own blog linking back to their blog post. This will produce a trackback link from their site to yours. Again using high PR blogs is the best way to do this.

Number 3: Buying Links

You can buy links from links exchanges and directories for xxx amount per month or for the lifetime of the link. These are pretty good but they can cost a lot of money compared to other techniques.

Number 4: Comments Placing on High PR Blogs=

This is one of my personal favourites and I have been using this method now for over 3 years and it is very very effective. This is simply finding high PR blogs and then commenting on them leaving your URL on the comments page. It sounds so simple and yes it is but the results are soooooooo good!!! The trick is to find those high PR Blogs in the first place!

Number 5: Referrer Linking

This is a slightly well very big blackhat method of getting your site indexed. What you are doing is calling a web page from a different domain from your server. This places a referrer record in the target domains log / stats and if these stats / logs have public records then chances are these are being spidered regularly depending on the target domain. Number 6: Wiki Linking

As the name suggests this is placing your links etc within the Wiki site.

Simply head over to Wiki to do this at

Wiki is a massive online encyclopaedia site.

Number 7: Yahoo Directory Canada

There is a little know exploit to get your pages indexed via yahoo quickly at the moment via using Yahoo’s submission service from Canada!!!

Number 8: Forum Linking

As the title suggests this is posting relevant comments in relevant forums. Most if not all forums allow you to have a signature box when you register so make sure you put your relevant URL into this signature box. To find relevant forums simply type “whatever subject” + (forum / discussion / blog) Example to find golf forums enter into Google: “golf” + forum To find golf equipment enter: “golf equipment” + forum

Use the best and only 2 search engine submission software available on the market.

Number 10: Web Services

Some web services allow you to do all sorts of things like place pictures, advertise your products, place a profile on a dating site etc. They also enable you to place your links on authority sites.

Number 11: Myspace.com

Myspace is currently the third biggest website on the planet and if you are not using this as part of your website submission strategy then you are seriously missing out on a golden opportunity. Simply create yourself a profile and put up your links within your profile and watch the spiders come running to your site! It really is that simple. I have over 20 profiles within Myspace.com targeting different niches.

Number 12: Technorati.com

Technorati.com is another very easy method of getting backlinks back to your site. All you need to do is simply create a profile and then add all your blogs to your favourites.

Number 13: Back-Linking

Back Linking is the essence that holds the internet together! All the big sites have hundreds of thousands of backlinks and the more you have usually the better. This is also the method of which the Search Engines define your value to the net. Google indicates this with PR and you will see Yahoo implement something similar in 2007. Authority sites are the best backlinks by far. The more you have from these sources the better.

There are quite a few link exchange networks available around at the moment.

Number15: Social Bookmarking

Social Bookmarking does work. I have utilised this method quite a bit over the past 6 months and have had some very good results.

Now you may ask what this has to do with getting a site indexed and rightly so. If an old domain had previous spider activity going to it then when you take over this old domain guess what? The spider activity is still going to be there because the links going to the site will still be there.

Number 17: Press Releases and Article Submissions

These are 2 of my personal favourites for getting listed in Google quickly. To do this successfully you must must MUST use unique content. Let me tell you 1 unique content article is more powerful then 1000 plr / free site articles on the same subject. If you produce (or get someone else to produce) unique content then you are onto a winner for your chosen target audience. It really is that simple.

Press releases there is only one place that is head and shoulders above the rest and that is http://www.prweb.com If you want to release anything on the web you must use these!

Number 18: Guestbook Spamming

This is as the title suggests a spamming method so some of you may / may not want to try this. This is being overused by beginners who really don’t know how to do this effectively as they do not use proxies to mask their IP addresses. These scripts are not to hard to find via Google just type in guestbook spamming script and you will be able to find these. I personally do not recommend any one particular script as this method is constantly changing and the script to do this needs
to adapt aswell. There is software available on the net to do this but I do not recommend any so you will have to find it yourself.

Number 19: XSS Links

XSS Links are basically using exploits within XSS. The most common vulnerability allows you to create an artificial backlink within another site that by adding your URL and some other parameters to the URL of the website where the vulnerabilities exist. This is extremely effective for sites that are already getting a lot of spider activity. 20: Msn Announce Site

With Msn you can announce you site and they will at some point (usually as quick as 24 hours) spider that site and get it listed.

Produce a site with good SEO.

Not exactly a way to get your site spidered but you must produce sites that have good linking strategies i.e. all the pages of the site are linked together. If you are like me and are not that great when it comes to dreamweaver or other site development tools then there is one piece of software out there that will take away all that agonising pain when it comes to site creation.
